There is a saying: “Do not spend your health trying to make money because all the money in the world cannot buy back your health.” Similarly, we can say: “Do not spend your soul trying to gain the world because all that the world contains cannot buy back your soul.” Never get so busy that you do not have time for personal prayer and daily examination of conscience (which is the act of checking up on your soul)

Deliberately thank God always so you can confidently ask God when you are in need. Ten lepers were cured, but only one was made well. Being cured of our problems is one thing: gratitude makes us whole, complete, and well.

When you are angry for too long, the devil seizes your anger as an opportunity to whisper evil suggestions to you. You find yourself thinking of how to inflict pain on others or wishing something bad happened to them. It is witchcraft to celebrate the downfall of others just because they hurt you in the past.

Like the pearl of great value a man found, the time you spend alone with God is of greater value than anything else in life. Nothing else matters.
