Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should have no compassion for the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.” (Isaiah 49:13-15). God is a prodigal father who will never forget his children. If today you hear these words, harden not your heart, repent and come back to Him. You never can tell what day would be your last on earth but you can cheat death now by living a righteous life.

It is not all that glitters that is gold. Ill-gotten wealth (blood-money) is a curse one places upon his or her head. If you think you will laugh by making others cry, your laughter will soon become mourning and loud lamentation.

Jesus explains that in the resurrection, we are going to be like the Angels – pure spirits who would not need to marry or give birth.

In John 6:51, Jesus said: “I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.” Jesus tells us that anyone who eats and drinks his body and blood will live forever. How much more the woman who carried Him in her womb for nine months?

When we continue living in sin, we betray Jesus, we behave as though Jesus is still in the grave. As you go about your daily activities from today, have a Jesus-is-alive consciousness. Remind yourself constantly of His presence within and around you, put away the works of darkness, take your minds from earthly pursuits and seek the things that are above. Let your life proclaim that Jesus is Alive.

In the midst of so much darkness, we Christians are called to become like this Paschal Candle; to shine goodness, love, compassion, truth, justice and everything Christ would do.
