Let us not be like stubborn sheep refusing to follow the shepherd back to the fold. No matter how sweet sin is, it is never sweeter than righteousness.

Like this man, God wants to heal you this advent. Begin by going for confession.

The natural outcome of proper preparation for Christmas following these four steps above is joy. Prepare a way for Jesus in your heart, cover up the valleys, bring down the mountains, straighten the crooked lines and there is no way you will not be happy. Only a heart that truly receives Christ understands what it means to be happy.

Even to this day, God is looking for people who will be willing instruments of His blessings to people. The joy, healing, liberation, and happiness you seek from God will not come in a vacuum, it will come through people. The question is whether you are also willing to become an instrument of God’s healing power and mercies to others.

Regardless of where we go in search of healing who prays for us, let us always remember that it is our Faith in Jesus Christ that brought about the healing. And Jesus alone deserves our praise, honor, and glory

People will fail us, but God will never fail us. Machines will fail us, pets will fail us, money will fail us, our government will fail us, our religious leaders will fail us but God will never fail.

When I feel down, when I am tempted to start asking God “Why this or why that?” I always remind myself of this verse: “We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him.” (Romans 8:28).

Just as Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus, the Feast of St. Andrew introduces the Church to the season of Advent. St. Paul in today’s first reading says: “How beautiful are the feet of one who brings Good News.”

We learn from the centurion to have the attitude of humility bearing in mind that we are indeed not worthy to have Jesus come to us. Humility is not just a matter of thinking less of myself, it is thinking big of the God I serve

If we observe our Advent properly, our joy on Christmas day would not simply be about the fact that Jesus was born, our joy would be that we have been able to conquer certain bad habits and sinful behaviors in our lives.

How can we live above worries and the cares of life? Jesus tells us: “Watch at all times, praying that you may have the strength to escape all these things that will take place.”

God is a king that can never be destroyed. He is greater than anything we can ever imagine or think of. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning, and the end the one who made us and sustains our life. As Jesus assures us today, “Heaven and earth may pass away but my words will not pass away.”
